In 1987, Chevrolet built 137,760 Camaros - 38,889 were IROCs and 12,105 were built with the L98 350-cu.in. TPI engine. A total of 1,007 convertibles were built (converted from T-top cars by American Sunroof Corporation) including sport coupes, Z28s, and IROCs (263 sport coupes, 744 Z28s/ IROCs). The '87 model year also brought an end to production at GM's Norwood, Ohio, plant, where Camaros and Firebirds were built, and all assembly was shifted to Van Nuys, California.
